Description

Have you ever wondered why your homemade chicken sometimes turns out dry, bland, or just plain boring, while restaurant versions are always juicy and full of flavor? These honey glazed chicken tenders are the answer! They are sweet, savory, and incredibly juicy. Best of all, they are fast and easy to make at home with a sticky, garlicky glaze that coats every single piece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds chicken tenderloins (or sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey (substitute with maple syrup if preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (use tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or green onions/cilantro)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken tenderloins dry with a paper towel. Dry chicken helps the seasoning stick better.
  2. Season: Place the chicken in a bowl. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss well so every piece is coated.
  3. Heat the Pan: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it get hot.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Place the tenders in the pan in a single layer. Do not crowd the pan (cook in batches if needed). Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic.
  6. Glaze the Chicken: Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, turning the chicken so it gets covered in the sticky sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Take the pan off the heat. Transfer to a platter, pour extra sauce over the top, and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

For the best result, ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Spice it up by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce, or add a citrus twist with 1 teaspoon of orange zest. To reheat, use a pan over low heat with a tiny splash of water to loosen the glaze.
