Description

This Honey Glazed Ham is a crowd-pleaser for a reason. The combination of sweet honey and savory spices creates a crust that is both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. It is the ultimate stress-free centerpiece for holidays, family gatherings, or a fancy Sunday dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-cooked spiral-cut ham (about 8 to 10 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare the Pan: Place the ham in a large roasting pan and add about 1/2 cup of water or apple juice to the bottom to keep the ham moist.
  3. Initial Bake: Cover the ham tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes per pound.
  4. Make the Glaze: While the ham is in the oven, whisk together the honey, brown sugar, mustard, melted butter, cinnamon, and cloves in a small bowl.
  5. Glaze the Ham: About 20 minutes before the ham is finished, remove it from the oven, take off the foil, and brush the glaze generously all over the ham, making sure to get it between the slices.
  6. Final Bake: Put the ham back in the oven, uncovered, and bake for the final 20 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Rest and Serve: Let the ham rest for about 15 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

You can make the glaze up to three days in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Leftover ham will keep in the refrigerator for up to four days, or you can freeze slices for up to two months.
