Description

This Homemade Seafood Lasagna Recipe is a creamy, dreamy take on classic comfort food—with tender shrimp, sweet crab, and a rich white sauce layered between pasta sheets and melty cheese. It’s a cozy, crowd-pleasing dish that brings seafood lovers to the table fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles (oven-ready or boiled)
  • 1 lb cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 8 oz lump crab meat, drained
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk or half-and-half
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the White Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add garlic. Stir in flour to form a paste, then gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened. Add salt, pepper, and Old Bay. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta, half the Parmesan, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well.
  3. Assemble the Lasagna: In a 9×13 baking dish, spread a layer of white sauce. Add noodles, a layer of ricotta, a layer of chopped shrimp and crab, then sprinkle mozzarella and more sauce. Repeat 3 times, ending with sauce and cheese on top.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
  5. Serve: Garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm with a side salad or garlic bread.

Notes

Dry your seafood well before layering to avoid excess moisture. You can prepare this dish a day ahead and refrigerate before baking. For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the white sauce or a splash of lemon juice before serving.
