Description

These Prosciutto-Wrapped Pears with Honey & Thyme are the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and savory flavors. Juicy pears are wrapped in delicate prosciutto, drizzled with golden honey, and topped with fresh thyme for a simple yet elegant appetizer that’s ready in minutes. Ideal for holidays, dinner parties, or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou)
  • 6–8 slices of thin prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or local preferred)
  • Fresh thyme leaves
  • Cracked black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pears: Wash, dry, and slice the pears into wedges. Remove the core but leave the skin for color and texture.
  2. Lay Out the Prosciutto: Place each slice on a clean surface. If too long, cut it in half lengthwise for easier wrapping.
  3. Wrap the Pears: Roll one prosciutto slice around each pear wedge, overlapping slightly to hold it together.
  4. Arrange and Drizzle: Place wrapped pears on a serving platter. Drizzle lightly with honey for a glossy finish.
  5. Add Thyme and Pepper: Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves and a pinch of cracked black pepper over the top.
  6. Optional Warm Version: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes to slightly crisp the prosciutto.

Notes

For the best flavor, choose pears that are ripe but still firm. To keep pears from browning, brush with lemon juice before wrapping. These can be made up to 4 hours ahead and stored in the fridge until serving. For extra flair, drizzle with balsamic glaze or top with crumbled goat cheese before serving.
