Description

Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Bites are a quick, crowd-pleasing snack that’s both elegant and easy. With creamy mozzarella, savory prosciutto, and the optional kick of fresh basil, these bites come together in under 20 minutes. Perfect for entertaining, holidays, or a fun family treat, they require minimal ingredients and deliver maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10–12 slices prosciutto (thinly sliced)
  • 20 small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • Toothpicks for securing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prep Prosciutto: Cut each slice of prosciutto lengthwise into two strips.
  3. Dry Mozzarella: Pat mozzarella balls dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  4. Add Basil (Optional): Place a basil leaf over each mozzarella ball for extra flavor.
  5. Wrap: Wrap each mozzarella ball with a strip of prosciutto. Secure with a toothpick.
  6. Arrange: Place bites on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper if desired.
  7. Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes until the prosciutto is crispy and mozzarella is just melted.
  8. Serve: Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

To make ahead, wrap the mozzarella bites and store in the fridge (uncooked) for up to 24 hours. Bake just before serving. For a smoky twist, grill instead of baking. Pairs well with balsamic glaze, cherry tomatoes, or fresh pesto on the side.
