Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box brownie mix (or homemade brownie recipe)
- Ingredients listed on the brownie mix (usually eggs, oil, and water)
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon bourbon, pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownie Base: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper. Prepare brownie batter according to package or homemade recipe. Pour into pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, just until slightly underbaked.
- Make the Pecan Pie Filling: In a saucepan, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and whisk in eggs and vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Layer and Bake: Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the partially baked brownies. Spread gently to cover. Bake for another 25–30 minutes or until golden and set.
- Cool and Slice: Let brownies cool completely, then chill for 1 hour before slicing for clean layers.
Notes
Let the brownie base cool slightly before adding the pecan layer to keep the layers distinct. For extra flavor, drizzle with caramel or sprinkle sea salt on top before serving. Best enjoyed with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
