Description

This Best Ever Party Appetizer features creamy goat cheese layered with sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, basil, rosemary, and garlic — all marinated in rich olive oil for a Mediterranean-inspired flavor explosion. It’s vibrant, elegant, and incredibly simple to prepare, making it the perfect starter for any party or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz (280g) goat cheese log, sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup black or Kalamata olives, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 baguette or loaf of crusty French bread, sliced and toasted for serving

Instructions

  1. Slice the Cheese: Chill the goat cheese to firm it up, then slice into ¼ to ½-inch rounds. Arrange the slices neatly on a long serving platter.
  2. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, garlic, basil, rosemary, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Layer and Drizzle: Spoon the marinade evenly over the goat cheese slices, letting the oil and herbs coat each piece beautifully.
  4. Marinate: Cover the platter with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  5. Serve: Bring to room temperature, drizzle with extra olive oil if needed, and serve with toasted baguette slices or crusty bread.

Notes

For a milder version, substitute goat cheese with cream cheese or a mix of goat and feta. To add a sweet twist, drizzle with a touch of honey before serving. For best flavor, use high-quality olive oil and fresh herbs.
