Description
This Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree is a festive, pull-apart dessert that’s as fun to make as it is to eat! With golden, flaky puff pastry layered with creamy Nutella, this recipe is perfect for holiday gatherings, brunches, or family baking days. It’s stunning to look at but easy enough for beginners—ready in under 30 minutes!
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup Nutella (or other chocolate hazelnut spread)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Base: Unroll one puff pastry sheet and spread Nutella evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Add Top Layer: Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and gently press to seal.
- Shape the Tree: Cut a large triangle shape to form the Christmas tree, using the leftover pieces to cut out a small star for the top.
- Create Branches: Slice horizontal lines on each side of the triangle, leaving a center trunk. Twist each strip 1–2 times to make branches.
- Egg Wash: Brush the tree with beaten egg for a golden finish. Attach the star to the top with a dab of water.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar or drizzling with melted chocolate. Serve warm for best texture.
Notes
For a creative twist, try swapping Nutella with Biscoff spread, peanut butter, or raspberry jam. Serve it warm for a pull-apart treat everyone will love. Great for Christmas breakfast, dessert, or a holiday party centerpiece!
