Description

These Italian Sub Pinwheels are a bite-sized twist on your favorite deli sandwich. Loaded with layers of salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and a tangy mayo-Italian dressing spread, they’re perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or game day snacks. Rolled up in a soft tortilla and chilled to perfection for clean slicing—every bite is packed with flavor and crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas (or spinach/tomato wraps)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Italian dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 slices salami
  • 8 slices ham
  • 12 slices pepperoni
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (drained and patted dry)
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the Spread: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Italian dressing, and oregano. Stir well to mix.
  2. Prep the Tortillas: Lay out one tortilla at a time. Spread a thin layer of the mayo-dressing mixture evenly over the entire surface.
  3. Layer the Fillings: Add salami, ham, pepperoni, and provolone. Then top with lettuce, tomatoes, onion slices, and banana peppers if using. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
  4. Roll It Up: Roll the tortilla tightly into a log. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Slice and Serve: Unwrap and slice into 1-inch pinwheels. Arrange cut-side up on a platter. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use paper towels to pat dry tomatoes and other wet ingredients to avoid soggy pinwheels. Use colorful wraps for visual appeal. These are best served within 24 hours of assembly for peak freshness.
