These Honey-Garlic Chicken Meatballs (Holiday Style) are ultra-cooked, ultra-crispy, toasted, sauced, and dripping juicy. Each bite is tender inside with a crispy golden outside, coated in a sticky honey-garlic glaze that shines like holiday magic. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or cozy dinners. Quick, flavorful, and unforgettable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Honey-Garlic Glaze

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 teaspoon water (slurry)

Optional Garnish

  • Green onions
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Make the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the Meatballs: Scoop and roll into 1 to 1.5 tablespoon balls. Keep them smooth for even cooking.
  3. Cook Until Crispy: Heat oil in a skillet over medium. Add meatballs and brown on all sides until crispy and golden. Cover and cook until done.
  4. Make the Honey-Garlic Glaze: In a saucepan, mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, and broth. Simmer, then add cornstarch slurry. Cook until thick and glossy.
  5. Coat the Meatballs: Pour hot glaze over cooked meatballs and toss until fully coated and sticky.
  6. Toast Under Broiler: Transfer to a baking sheet. Broil 1–2 minutes for toasted tops. Brush with extra sauce for a juicy finish.
  7. Serve: Garnish with green onions or parsley. Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, roll meatballs in panko before cooking.
  • To bake: cook at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, then broil.
  • Freeze uncooked meatballs for up to 3 months.
  • Add chili flakes to make them spicy for holiday parties.
