Description

This Homemade Savory Meat And Cheese Quiche is a creamy, flavorful, and filling dish that combines rich eggs, melty cheese, and your favorite meats all in a buttery crust. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner and comes together with just a few simple ingredients. Whether you’re feeding a crowd or planning your weekly meal prep, this quiche is a cozy crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 deep-dish 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 1 cup cooked meat (bacon, sausage, ham, or shredded chicken)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • ½ cup sautéed vegetables (optional: onions, mushrooms, spinach, peppers)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or dried herbs for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the pie crust sit at room temperature if frozen.
  2. Prep the crust: Place the crust in a pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork and pre-bake for 7–8 minutes to prevent sogginess. Let cool slightly.
  3. Cook the filling: In a skillet, cook your chosen meat until fully done. If using vegetables, sauté them in a little oil until soft. Drain any excess moisture.
  4. Mix the eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, salt, pepper, and optional spices until smooth.
  5. Assemble the quiche: Spread meat over the pie crust, layer on vegetables (if using), sprinkle cheese on top, then pour the egg mixture evenly over everything.
  6. Bake the quiche: Place in the oven and bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the center is set and top is golden. A knife inserted should come out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the quiche sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

Notes

You can make this quiche crustless for a low-carb option. To prevent a watery quiche, always cook and drain vegetables before adding them. This recipe is great for using up leftovers and works with almost any cheese or meat combination.
