Description

This warm and comforting Thanksgiving leftovers sub brings together tender turkey, savory ham, soft stuffing, and rich gravy inside a perfectly toasted roll. It is the quickest and most satisfying way to enjoy classic holiday flavors all over again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sliced leftover turkey
  • 1 cup sliced leftover ham
  • 1 cup leftover stuffing
  • 1 cup leftover gravy, warmed
  • 2 sub rolls or hoagie rolls
  • 1 tablespoon butter or mayonnaise for toasting

Instructions

  1. Toast the Rolls: Slice sub rolls lengthwise, keeping one side attached. Spread butter or mayonnaise on the cut sides. Toast in a skillet or oven until golden.
  2. Warm the Turkey: Heat turkey slices in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds or warm gently in a skillet with a splash of broth.
  3. Warm the Ham: Heat the ham slices just until warm. Ham heats quickly, so avoid overcooking.
  4. Prepare the Stuffing: Warm stuffing in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. Add a teaspoon of broth if dry.
  5. Heat the Gravy: Warm gravy in a saucepan or microwave until smooth and hot.
  6. Layer the Turkey: Place warm turkey evenly along the bottom of each toasted roll.
  7. Add the Ham: Lay warm ham slices directly over the turkey.
  8. Add the Stuffing: Spoon warm stuffing over the ham and press gently to help it stay in place.
  9. Finish with Gravy: Spoon warmed gravy over the stuffing. Serve extra gravy on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Toast the bread well to prevent sogginess.
  • Add cranberry sauce or melted cheese for extra flavor.
  • If stuffing is crumbly, mash lightly so it forms a layer.
