Instructions
- Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggnog and Egg: Mix in the egg, eggnog, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Make the Dough: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Scoop the Cookies: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting.
- Make the Frosting: Beat butter, powdered sugar, eggnog, vanilla, and nutmeg until fluffy.
- Frost and Decorate: Spread or pipe frosting onto cooled cookies. Add nutmeg or sprinkles.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough before baking. Unfrosted cookies freeze well for up to 2 months. Add extra eggnog to frosting for a smoother texture.
