Description

This Creamy Beef Tortellini Skillet is the ultimate one-pan comfort meal. Tender beef, cheesy tortellini, and a rich, creamy sauce come together in just 30 minutes. It’s simple, cozy, and perfect for busy weeknights when you want something filling and homemade without extra cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, stew meat, or ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter option)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1820 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned on all sides. Remove excess fat if needed.
  2. Add Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Create the Sauce: Pour in beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan. Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning.
  4. Cook the Tortellini: Add tortellini directly to the skillet. Stir to coat, cover, and simmer for 5–7 minutes until pasta is tender.
  5. Finish with Cheese: Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, let the beef brown well before stirring. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of broth or cream. This dish is best served fresh but reheats well with added liquid.
