Description

This Burrata Toast with Pistachios and Hot Honey is a quick and elegant dish that combines creamy burrata, crunchy pistachios, and a drizzle of sweet-spicy hot honey. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as an appetizer, it’s a gourmet treat made in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thick slices of sourdough or rustic bread (substitute with ciabatta, rye, or gluten-free bread)
  • 2 balls burrata cheese (substitute with fresh mozzarella or whipped ricotta)
  • 1/3 cup roasted pistachios, roughly chopped (substitute with walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts)
  • 3 tablespoons hot honey (or warm honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: fresh basil, mint, or lemon zest for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toast the Bread: Brush bread slices with olive oil and toast in a skillet, grill pan, or toaster oven until golden and crisp. For extra flavor, rub lightly with a garlic clove.
  2. Prepare the Pistachios: Roughly chop roasted pistachios and set aside.
  3. Get the Burrata Ready: Bring burrata to room temperature, then gently tear into smaller pieces.
  4. Drizzle Hot Honey: If making your own, warm honey with chili flakes for 1–2 minutes, then let cool slightly.
  5. Assemble the Toast: Place toasted bread on a serving plate. Layer with creamy burrata, sprinkle pistachios, drizzle with hot honey, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Add fresh herbs or lemon zest for brightness. Serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. To prep ahead, chop pistachios and make hot honey in advance. Re-crisp bread if needed before assembling. For variations, try balsamic glaze instead of honey or add sliced heirloom tomatoes under the burrata.
