Ingredients
- Biscuit Crust: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed), 3/4 cup buttermilk
- Sausage Gravy: 1 lb breakfast sausage, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 2 cups whole milk, salt and black pepper to taste
- Toppings: 4 large eggs (scrambled), 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup cooked bacon or ham (optional), parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Crust: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk to form dough. Roll out into a 12-inch circle and place on a greased pizza pan. Bake for 8–10 minutes until partially cooked.
- Make the Sausage Gravy: In a skillet, cook sausage until browned. Sprinkle with flour and stir to coat. Slowly whisk in milk. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Scramble the Eggs: In a nonstick skillet, scramble eggs until just set. Remove from heat.
- Assemble Pizza: Spread sausage gravy over biscuit crust. Sprinkle with half the cheese, then top with scrambled eggs and optional bacon or ham. Add remaining cheese.
- Bake and Serve: Return to oven for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with parsley or green onions before slicing.
Notes
For a shortcut, use canned biscuit dough instead of homemade. To make ahead, prepare the gravy and eggs the night before, then assemble and bake in the morning. Try adding sautéed veggies or pepper jack cheese for a twist.
