Description

This Baked Brie in Puffed Pastry with Honey, Fig, and Prosciutto is a sweet and savory showstopper perfect for any gathering. Gooey brie is wrapped in buttery puff pastry, filled with sweet fig jam and salty prosciutto, then baked until golden and melty. With a drizzle of honey and optional fresh herbs or nuts, it’s the ultimate appetizer that’s as easy to make as it is impressive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 wheel (8 oz) brie cheese
  • 23 tablespoons fig jam or preserves
  • 23 slices prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare pastry: Lay out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the brie in the center.
  3. Add toppings: Spread fig jam over the top of the brie. Layer prosciutto slices over the jam, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with optional nuts.
  4. Wrap brie: Fold the pastry over the brie, trimming excess if needed, and pinch to seal. Flip the bundle over so the seam is on the bottom.
  5. Brush with egg: Brush the top and sides with the beaten egg to help it brown.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with thyme and more honey if desired.

Notes

You can make this ahead and refrigerate it (unbaked) for up to 24 hours. To make it low-carb, use keto-friendly pastry and sugar-free fig spread. Serve with crackers, sliced apples, or toasted bread.
