Asparagus and Goat Cheese Tartlets

  • Author: nakisha
  • Total Time: 40 minute
  • Yield: 4 tartlets 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
  • 810 spears asparagus, trimmed and cut into thirds
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • Fresh thyme or basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare puff pastry: Roll out the pastry and cut it into 4 equal squares. Place them on the baking sheet.
  • Score the edges: Lightly score a 1/2-inch border around each square and brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  • Layer toppings: Sprinkle goat cheese in the center of each pastry. Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, then arrange on top.
  • Bake: Place the tartlets in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Finish & serve: Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with Parmesan, and garnish with fresh thyme or basil. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If you want extra crispy asparagus, roast it separately before adding it to the tartlets.
  • For meal prep, assemble tartlets a few hours in advance and bake when needed.
  • If you prefer a sweeter version, add caramelized onions or figs.
